AcceleDent System – Heaton Mersey
Here at Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Centre we offer a relatively new orthodontic treatment known as the AcceleDent system. We are actually one of the first pioneering practices in the UK to offer this form of treatment, and we are delighted to offer it to our Didsbury, Stockport and other Manchester based patients; more information about AcceleDent is provided below:
What is AcceleDent?
Acceledent is a small hand held device that can be combined with your orthodontic treatment. This can decrease the usual treatment time up to 50% making it far more efficient for brace wearers. The AcceleDent is comfortable and very easy to use, and is also water resistant.
AcceleDent was designed by Jeremy Mao (who is a specialist in orthodontic treatment) and is ideal for those at our Heaton Mersey Practice who are currently wearing any form of fixed brace or aligner.
How Does AcceleDent Work?
The patient simply has to bite down on the device for 20 minutes a day.
The device sends pulsing forces through the teeth and allows them to be moved faster than just wearing the braces alone.
These small vibrations (also known as microvibrations) are intended to enhance the work of the braces more effectively and without pain. The outcome is highly successful, the AcceleDent system having been proven to decrease your treatment time dramatically.
Is AcceleDent Safe?
AcceleDent has been tried and tested to show that it is completely safe, which is why it is such a welcome addition to our range of treatments. The only thing required is that you use the device for 20 minutes per day, but no more than this as it will then affect the underlying bone. If you follow the exact instructions provided everything should be fine, and we will be here every step of the way.
How Will You Know If The AcceleDent Is Working?
The specialist team here at our Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Centre in Manchester will be able to measure your tooth movement during your use of the AcceleDent system, and from there you can decide whether or not you wish to carry on with the treatment. But, we believe that you will be as amazed with the results as we are.
