We are a practice which specialises in providing orthodontic treatment only.

We opened our doors in 2000 after completely refurbishing the existing building to create a spacious, bright and contemporary practice.

The practice is fully computerised with a state of the art specialist orthodontic software supported with integrated digital photography and digital x-rays.

We have over 15,000 registered and receive referrals from all areas of Manchester and Cheshire.

We take great care to plan treatment looking at the whole of the patients face, their profile bone tissue and lip musculature so that we can enhance facial harmony.

We actively encourage and fund continuing education for our dedicated and enthusiastic staff and were proud to gain the Investors in people award in 2005.

Our goal is to provide the best quality orthodontic treatment in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Lisa has been at the practice since we opened in 2000 and was on of our senior nurses. She has won a place on a pioneering training course which could help slash waiting times for children requiring braces.

Lisa Woodin, who is based at the Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Centre on Didsbury Road, started the first ever training course for a new kind of health care professional this summer.

At the end of the course Lisa will be one of the first ever orthodontic therapists and will be able to work directly on patients teeth, taking a full and active role in orthodontic care.

Dental nurses from across the UK applied and just 10 were selected to join the 45 week course, which will lead to a diploma in orthodontic therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

The course director, Simon Littlewood, who set up the course with fellow consultant Trevor Hodge, explained: "Once the have completed the course, the therapists, working under the supervision of an orthodontist, will be able to do much of the work traditionally done by an orthodontist, such as taking impressions, fitting orthodontic bands and placing and removing brackets and wires."

Mr Hodge added: "Competition for places was very intense from all round the country, so Lisa did very well to gain a place on this prestigious course."
